Zhongfan Liu has completed his PhD from University of Tokyo and postdoctoral studies from the same university and Institute for Molecular Science (IMS), Japan. His current research interests include the CVD growth, mass production and equipment manufacturing, and unique applications. He is the founding Director of Beijing Graphene Institute (BGI) and a BOYA chair professor of Peking University. He is the member of Chinese Academy of Sciences and the fellow of TWAS.

Ahmed Elmarakbi as Professor of Automotive Composites in Northumbria University Head of Subject (Mechanical Engineering) and and Leader of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) research group. He is also a Visiting Professor of Vehicle Lightweighting at Hunan University. His research work focuses on developing robust, reliable and sustainable material solutions (based on graphene and related materials) and implementing new concepts and technologies in industrial scale. It aims to establish and strengthen the link between the development of novel advanced nanocomposites with unique synthesis and functionalities, and the improvement of the modelling capability and the need for securing refined results for the design of real structural components and energy conversion/storage systems. My work outcomes are recognised both nationally and internationally as evident from over 120+ plenary lectures, invited talks, keynotes and presentations; over 180 peer-reviewed research papers and patents. I have received many prestigious awards and grants, including EPSRC (UK), NSERC and OGS (Canada), JSPS (Japan), FP7, Horizon2020, and Graphene Flagship (EU), and several direct national and international projects.

Marcos A. Pimenta is professor at the Department of Physics of Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and in 1992 he created the Raman spectroscopy Laboratory at UFMG. In 1997, he started the research area of carbon nanomaterials (nanotubes and graphenes) at UFMG using, mainly, Raman spectroscopy. He has won national and international awards, including the Scopus-CAPES prize in 2008 for the visibility of his scientific works, the Somyia award in 2009, delivered by the IUMRS, for the collaborative works with US, Mexico and Japan groups. In 2010, he received the command of the Brazilian Order of Scientific Merit, and was elected as a full member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. He got the 2013 TWAS Prize in Physics and the 2014 Marcos Mares-Guia Prize (FAPEMIG) in Minas Gerais, Brazil. He is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and the Brazilian Physical Society. He was the president of the Brazilian Physical Society (SBF) from 2017 to 2019. Currently, he is the director of the Brazilian Institute for Science and Technology (INCT) of Carbon Nanomaterials.

Aicheng Chen is Professor of Chemistry, Senior Canada Research Chair in Electrochemistry and Nanoscience, and Director of the Electrochemical Technology Centre at the University of Guelph, Canada. He received his MSc from Xiamen University under the supervision of Prof. S.-G. Sun and his PhD from the University of Guelph in 1998 under the direction of Prof. J. Lipkowski. Prof. Chen has received numerous awards, including the Ontario Premier's Research Excellence Award, the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Invitation Fellowship, the Lash Miller Award and the R.C. Jacobsen Award of the Electrochemical Society Canada Section, the Fred Beamish Award, the Keith Laidler Award and the W.A.E. McBryde Medal of the Canadian Society for Chemistry, the Canadian Catalysis Lectureship Award, and the RBC Innovation Award. He has also been named as Fellow of the Chemical Institute of Canada, Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), and Fellow of the International Society of Electrochemistry.

Mi Lu received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Rice University, Houston in 1984 and 1987, respectively. She joined the department at Texas A&M in 1987, where she is currently a professor. Her research interests include computer arithmetic, parallel computing, distributed processing, computer architectures and algorithms, computer networks, computational geometry and VLSI algorithms. She is the author of 4 book/book chapters, and over 200 technical papers published in professional journals and top-venue conferences. She was invited as Panelist and keynote speaker, and was the winner of Innovative Paper Award by CSCI. She was the Conference Chair of 5 premium conferences and served on Technical Program Committee of 12 conferences. She was the Guest Editor, Honorable Editor and Area Editor, and on 4 editorial boards of professional journals. She served on the review panel of National Science Foundation. Her name has been listed in Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in America, Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in Science & Engineering, and Who's Who in American Education. She was also selected for a narrative compilation " Who's Who of Professional Women ".

Bin Zhu is visiting professor in Aalto University and Nanyang Technological University as well as in several Chinese universities to co-supervise research projects and PhD students. Since 2018, Zhu has been visiting professor in Loughborough University, UK; since 2019, lecturer professor ( chair) in Xian Jiaotong University and since 2020, chair professor in Southeast University. He is selected by Hubei Provincial 100-oversea talents program in 2013, currently Zhu is also a distinguished professor for 100-talent teams in Hubei University and China University of Geoscience (Wuhan) in cooperation with EC - China NANOCOFC (Nanocomposites for advanced fuel cells) .Dr. Zhu has more than 300 publications in nano-composites and new functional semiconductor-ionic materials for advanced fuel cells/solar cells from material to device, technology for polygeneration systems, electrolyte (layer)-free fuel cell (EFFC), new functional semiconductor-ionic materials, single layer fuel cells (SLFCs), semiconductor-based fuel cell (SBFC) as next generation high-efficient fuel-to-electricity conversion highlighted by the latest publication on Science (1). He has also devoted to establish frontier disciplinary of Semiconductor-Ionics for superionic conductors and Semiconductor Electrochemistry for fuel cells and other energy storage devices, e.g. solid batteries. He is a winner of 2018 WSSET (World Society of Sustainable Energy Technologies) Innovation award for Power Generation. Dr. Zhu is one of the Most Cited scholars in China (Energy sector, Elsevier) continuously from 2014-now.

Anderson S. L. Gomes received his PhD degree from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London, in 1986, and is presently a Full Professor of Physics at the Physics Department, Universidade Federal of Pernambuco, Recife, PE, Brazil. He is the co-author of more than 300 scientific papers, 03 international patents, supervised more than 36 Master Dissertations and 20 PhD theses. Professor Gomes is a Fellow of the Optical Society of America and Member of the Brazilian Academy of Science. He has received the Brazilian Order of Scientific Merit commander class. His present scientific activities are in the areas of laser applications in Nanophotonics, Biophotonics and Nonlinear Photonics. He is the Director of the National Institute for Science and Technology (INCT) of Photonics, part of a Brazilian Initiative.

Dr. Guiping Dai works at Nanchang University. His team focuses on the development of next-generation motive power battery technology. He has worked extensively in graphene, carbon nanotubes and other novel nanocarbons with chemical vapor deposition, plasma torches, arc-discharge and chemical solutions and their applications in hydrogen fuel cell, batteries, super-capacitors and electrochemical energy storage.

In 2011 I obtained my PhD in Chemical Sciences at the Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria (UTFSM), a prestigious Chilean university with strong background in science and engineering, located in the Valparaiso region. My PhD focused on experimental chemistry, in the areas of materials science and nanotechnology (graphene, carbon nanotubes, metallic and semiconducting nanoparticles). An important part of my scientific research has consisted in studying, synthesizing and characterizing nanomaterials, focusing on technological applications in the areas of biocorrosion, medicine and electronics. In addition, I have directed the development and implementation of numerous laboratories, dedicated to research in the area of materials science. In 2011, I undertook a postdoctoral research position at INMETRO (National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology) in Brazil. I have 17 years of teaching experience. Until 2020, I worked as an academic at the Institute of Chemistry at Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso (PUCV), delivering courses for undergraduate and postgraduate level in the areas of corrosion, nanomaterials, physical chemistry and biocorrosion. Now I am working at the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at UTFSM. Currently, in collaboration with the Sub Secretary of Defense, ASMAR Valparaiso, the Port Captaincy of Quintero, the University of Concepcion and UTFSM, I am leading and developing a project focused on the first marine biocorrosion map of Chile. This project is sponsored and endorsed by the Sub secretariat of defense, due to its dual impact, and its future replication in collaboration with foreign entities in the area.
