Francis Assadian is a Professor in system dynamics and control in the department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, Davis. His expertise includes vehicle dynamics, active chassis development, alternative powertrain, energy optimization, and estimation and advanced control system design. He was previously head of the department of automotive engineering at Cranfield University in the UK. He has over 30 years of industry experience of which 17 years are in the automotive domain. He worked for companies such as Peugeot-Citroen in France, Ford of Europe in Germany, and Jaguar Land-Rover in the UK. He has published over 100 journal and conference papers, and technical reports. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of California and a Certified Engineer in the UK, and a Fellow of IMechE.
James Ren is currently a Professor of Engineering and Director of the Mechanical Engineering and Materials Research Centre, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), UK. He graduated from Yanshan University (China) with a BEng degree in Materials Science and Engineering in 1991; He obtained his MSc/ PhD degree (UK) in Advanced Manufacturing and Design in 2000. He has worked at several institutions in the UK including University of Exeter (UK), Loughborough University, Serco Assurance/AMEC sponsored by the EPSRC, HEFCE and the Royal Academy of Engineering (UK). Prof. Ren’s research activities covered a wide range of areas including Advanced Materials Development and Processing; Smart Materials and Structures; Computational Mechanics and Applications; Physical modelling and Data Science. Prof Ren has authored/co-authored over 85 SCI journal papers and gave numerous conference presentations/invited talks. He is the reviewer for several leading scientific and engineering journals and serves as an editorial board member of SCI journal “Materials & Design” and EI Journal “Surface Technology”. He has supervised over 15 PhD students in the past 10 years, and acted as PhD/academic program examiners for several Universities in the UK and overseas. Prof. James Ren will share his research based on a recent royal society project and three current EU H2020 consortium projects involving over 10 academic and industrial partners in Europe and Asia on Modelling and Data Driven Research in Green Materials in multi-components Hardfacings, Geopolymers and Advanced Stainless Steels.

Currently, he is a Director of Bachelor of Science in Energy Engineering Program and Clinical Associate Professor at Mechanical and Energy Engineering department, Purdue School of Engineering and Technology Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). He has received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, London, UK. He has received grants from DOE (Department of Energy), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and industries. He has over 40 publications in international journals and conferences. He is a registered Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Certified Practitioner in Energy Management System (CP EnMS) for ISO 50001 and Superior Energy Performance (SEP).His research interest are;robotics, controls, energy management, energy efficiency improvement, smart manufacturing, simulation based modeling and industrial automation.
Dr.Goldenberg is the founder of the field of Robotics at University of Toronto where he has been since 1982 as a Professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, cross appointed in the Institute of Biomaterials & Biomedical Engineering, and in the Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is currently a Professor Emeritus. Dr. Goldenberg is also an Adjunct Professor at Ryerson University, a Guest Professor at Nanjing University of Science and Technology, P.R. China, and a Guest Professor at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Science, Tianjin, P. R. China.Dr.Goldenberg has supervised to-date the largest number of graduate students in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering (46 PhD and 64 MASc). He has an exceptional publication record with over 7500 citations (128 archival journal papers, 294 papers in major conferences, 15 book chapters and 105 patents granted and applied). The citations count is one of the highest in the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering.
Ludmila Kucerova completed her PhD in the year 2006 and habilitation in 2011 at University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (UWB) and currently works as associated professor at Department of Material Science of UWB. She is head of Laboratory of Metallography and head of the research program Forming technologies in Regional technological institute of UWB. She has published more than 39 papers in journals in WOS/Scopus. Her research work deals with the relationship between processing parameters, microstructure and mechanical properties of advanced high strength steels and she has been lately involved also in material analysis of additively manufactured metals.
