Dr. Filiz Mericli is a Director of the Phytotherapy Department, Near East University, Faculty of Pharmacy. She has graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy of Ankara University (1976); she completed her doctorate thesis using TUBITAK National Doctoral Fellowship at the same faculty. She received the title of Assistant professor at the Department of Pharmacognosy Faculty of Pharmacy Istanbul University(1987) and the title of professor in 1995 at Istanbul University. She retired from Istanbul University, at her own request and she worked at Yeni Yüzyil University, Faculty of Pharmacy in 2012 / 2013 Academic Year. She has supported the development of the faculty laboratories. She has been working at Near East University Faculty of Pharmacy since 2014. She is the director of the Phytotherapy Master and Ph.D. Programs. Research topics: Medicinal plants, phytochemistry, complementary therapies (phytotherapy, aromatherapy, apitherapy, homeopathy, etc). She worked and made scientific researches, respectively in Germany Berlin-TU and Saarland University ( 2,5 years), USA-The University of Georgia ( NATO Research Grant and Fulbright Fellowship – 2 years). She has more than 250 articles, 2 books and 2 chapters in international books. She gives conferences on herbal pharmaceutical products organized by universities and non-profit organizations of physicians, pharmacists, consumer protection, etc. She was The Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Istanbul Chamber of Pharmacists from 2002-2006 and 2008 – 2013. She has been working voluntarily with several non-profit organizations (NGOs) for providing solutions to education, health, environment, and social issues. She has won THE AWARD OF COURAGEOUS WOMAN OF THE YEAR in 2007 given by Culture University Istanbul. She is married to Prof. Dr.Ali H. Meriçli and has a daughter.

He worked as the Senator of the Faculty of Pharmacy between 2006-2009. He was the Head of the Pharmacognosy Department between 2003-2012. He was the Head of the Pharmacy Professional Sciences Department between 2009-2012. In February 2012, he retired from Istanbul University at his own request. He contributed to the education and development of Yeni Yüzyıl University Faculty of Pharmacy between February 2012 and August 2013 and served as a senator of Yeni Yüzyıl University Faculty of Pharmacy. Since September 2013, he has been working as a lecturer at Cyprus Near East University (Near East University) Faculty of Pharmacy. As of the year 2019, he has 155 scientific articles, 3 books, 3 chapters, and 43 reviews. He is married to Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli and has a daughter and a grandson.
